Engaging a Diverse Group of Volunteers While Maintaining Productivity for Your Organization and Its Mission

Most nonprofit organizations have a need for volunteers.   In fact, many could not operate without the help of so many dedicated community volunteers to support their mission.   However, even the best-intentioned people can cause problems.  We cannot help but acquire a diverse group of individuals when recruiting volunteers – some of whom may not be the best fit for your organization.  When this happens, it can negatively impact the work environment and productivity within your organization.  In this 2-hour workshop, the presenter will discuss how she manages thousands of volunteers from all walks of life at her organization.  There will be an interactive forum for questions and answers with an opportunity for volunteer coordinators to brainstorm these issues together.

Darlene Bachman, Pantry Organizer at the Pennsylvania Avenue United Methodist Church Food Cupboard, will be presenting.  She has years of experience with managing volunteers and with volunteering as well.

Registration is free.
