SAME DC Post Small Business Breakfast 

The Washington DC Post is hosting a small business breakfast at the Army Navy Club on October 18th. We will have an exciting group of guest speakers from the government, large prime contractors, and small businesses to address how to build relationships to drive revenue. Come out to network with other small businesses and learn how to conduct the best business practices to expand your project portfolio. At the event, we will have:

Mentor Protege Rountable Discussion

The mentor protege roundtable discussion will focus on the point of views of the agency, large businesses that mentor, and small business that participate in the program. The Mentor Protege Program is designed to ensure the successof small businesses. The goal is to pair companies in a relationship that each finds acceptable. The roundtable discussion will engage you in deep conversation on the effectiveness of the program, where has it been successful for small business, and other prospectives.

Business Development Workshop (receive 3 Professional Development Hours)

The business development workshop is an educational and professional development training that will focus on how to strategically position your business to grow in the government contracting environment from developing the right relationships to joint venture agreements. This includes sales prospecting to generate new business, learning government program mission and objectives, etc. You will gain the required skills, techniques, and tools necessary to develop and maintain successful business development program.

A. Jon Shoraka currently serves as the Associate Administrator of Government COntracting and Business Development at the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). His team supports thousands of small businesses every year as they compete for over $500 billion in federal prime contracts and billions more in subcontracts. In his current role, Mr. Shoraka is responsible for overseeing the umbrella office with jurisdiction over the Agency's offices of Size Standards, HUBZone, Government Contracting, and Business Development/8(a).
