The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) is a professional Society, one of the oldest and most respected in the Nation. It maintains the highest standards of professionalism, fosters exchange of ideas, and encourages teamwork between military and civilian engineers and architects. This union of military and civilian design professionals has increased the engineer potential of the United States and helps our Nation “stay ready.” As its Charter acclaims, The Society is “Dedicated to the National Defense.”
The Washington DC Post supports The Society’s goal to promote the engineering career field at colleges and universities through scholarships. The Washington DC Post, made up of over 1,400 individual members and 185 corporate members, offers scholarships annually to architectural and engineering college students, with an emphasis on those in the Washington DC Post area. The Washington DC Post awarded twelve scholarships for $3,000 each in 2014.
