Small Animal Emergency Sheltering Class (Level One) on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019 in Marietta, GA

Good Mews Animal Foundation and Florida State Animal Response Coalition invite you to take the Small Animal Emergency Sheltering class.

Florida is one of the first states to design and implement state-approved training courses in small animal emergency sheltering. Following FEMA guidelines, this class has been taught to over 2,000 county employees, animal welfare professionals, and pet-passionate individuals since 2011.

Good Mews Animal Foundation recognizes that disasters affect every state including Georgia. They have graciously invested resources to hold the class in Marietta.

This Awareness Level (Level 1) class will give you the knowledge and skills you need to work in an emergency animal shelter or pet-friendly shelter. It will give you the expertise and practical experience required to become a disaster animal responder. The Awareness Level Small Animal Emergency Sheltering class is certified by the Florida Department of Emergency Management and is required to respond in Florida to help companion animals during a disaster.

There is a $100 administration fee for each participant. After successful completion of this class you will recieve a complimentary Florida SARC uniform t-shirt. Choose your shirt size on the registration page. You may also order additional shirts for $15 each on the registration page.

Graduates will have the opportunity to join the FLSARC volunteer team of first responders. Volunteers often deploy with coalition partners throughout the United States for natural and manmade disasters involving companion animals.

Seating is limited to 40 students and registration will close immediately once the class is full. No future classes are planned at this time in Georgia. Register today!
