PSIA PLAI Panel Discussion
ASIS 2015
There is finally a bridge between the physical and logical systems in an enterprise–PLAI. Through the use of the Physical Logical Access Interoperability (PLAI) Specification, PSIA member companies have demonstrated how enterprise customers can use a common identity source, reducing costs and enhancing the functionality of their business. The PSIA has hosted two successful demonstrations at ISC West 2015 and ASIS 2014. We have another opportunity for you to participate in a follow on session
Background: Organizations have a stated need to provide access to both systems and sites in order to optimize productivity. Streamlining processes to manage activities more efficiently, in a less error-prone way, and in turn, reducing the cost of maintaining the required access, are at the heart of what PLAI provides.
The PLAI working group of the PSIA has successfully demonstrated a logical identity flowing into one or more PACS (physical access control systems) and demonstrated how credentials can be provided to that person across the organization.
The PLAI session at ASIS 2015 will outline how optimum identity integration can be achieved, and will showcase the work recently completed by the PSIA. It will feature an implementation scenario, and will provide you with the answers you need around how and why you should be compliant with a PLAI-based architecture. Our session will provide attendees with insight on how to adopt a standards-based approach to maintaining and accessing identities across physical security systems.
PLAI will also be providing details on the newly extended capabilities such as
Customers and vendors, including end user Microsoft Global Security, and PLAI technology members such as Lenel, Tyco Security, Honeywell, Gallagher, Allegion, and Kastle Systems are actively supporting PLAI, and will be at the session to describe their experiences, answer questions, and allow you to understand why the new PLAI specification for identities are ready for prime time.
Whether you have interest in learning about PLAI to implement, specify or add value to your customers through integration, this session will provide valuable insight. All attendees will depart with access to a full package of PLAI material courtesy of the PSIA.
