PAIN MANAGEMENT CME OPPORTUNITY

EXTENDED-RELEASE/LONG-ACTING OPIOIDS: ASSESSING RISKS, SAFE PRESCRIBING

Join the D.C. Board of Medicine for a FREE live 3-hour CME AMA PRA Category 1 Credit and AOA Category 2B Credit Activity.

Extended Release/Long Acting (ER/LA) opioids are approved to treat severe persistent pain. The misuse and abuse of these drugs have resulted in a serious public health crisis of addiction, overdose, and death. A growing body of evidence suggests that physicians and other prescribers must be extremely vigilant about these risks should they choose to prescribe ER/LA opioids.

The program is aimed at improving prescriber training and counseling for patients while providing more thorough and accurate information for each ER/LA opioid product on the market.
