Frames for Understanding and Transforming Education

SEPTEMBER 29, 2016

"We need to tell the full truth in order to transform our education system and do right by our young people."

Lisa Graustein has over 20 years experience as an out youth worker, teacher, activist, and teacher trainer. Currently, Lisa works with district, charter, and private schools in Boston to increase racial and gender equity. She holds an M.Ed. in Racial Justice Education and is a facilatator for both Beyond Diversity 101 (a 5-day intensive workshop) and White People Challenging Racism: Moving from Talk to Action.

By modeling the principles of social justice education and applying frames for understanding, Lisa will:

  • Guide us to explore how we can radically transform how we approach education
  • Heal from oppression
  • Work to end white supremacy in ourselves and our institutions.
