NRA America's Rifle Challenge Training Clinic Sat Oct 10th 8AM - 12PM

NRA America’s Rifle Challenge presented by Daniel Defense (ARC) is a recreational training program designed to encourage modern sporting rifle owners to do more than just target practice at the range; it provides the opportunity for rifle owners of all skill levels to learn modern defensive skills on their own rifle platforms.

This event will be hosted by PNTC and ran by NRA staff. This will be an instructor led training event where the shooters will be taught safe gun handling skills, magazine changes, defensive positions and barricade use. This is a fundamentals based program that will bridge the gap for novice shooters into the defensive/competitive shooting world.

Gear Requirements: A semi-automatic, detachable magazine rifle, (calibers are limited from a .223 minimum to .30cal maximum), eye and hearing protection, chamber flag, 4 magazines, some sort of magazine carrying system (thigh, waist, or chest rig), 120 rounds of ammunition It is advisable to bring 140 rounds to accommodate reshoots. , and a sling (recommended). Due to the range environment, knee and/or elbow pads are highly recommended. ALL SHOOTERS MUST HAVE A 100 YARD ZERO ON THEIR RIFLES BEFORE THE EVENT START.

Amreica's Rifle Challenge Overview - The NRA America’s Rifle Challenge (ARC) presented by Daniel Defense is a program of shooting events with various levels designed to develop and test defensive rifle skills with other modern general purpose semi-automatic rifles, such as the AR-15. These matches are designed for all skill levels, and there are categories of participation for rifles with iron sights and optics, with any safe trigger and a manually operated mechanical safety, regardless of barrel length. They’re intended to pose marksmanship and rifle handling challenges that relate to what a person might expect to encounter in a defensive situation, including firing and reloading in a variety of positions, from different distances, testing both the accuracy and the speed of shots.

Note: Shooters may advance from the training to basic and advanced levels by various means which will be discussed when the official ARM rulebook is published in 2015.  ARM matches at various levels will likely be held throughout the United States in 2016. Shooters are NOT required to be an NRA member to participate in their initial ARM at PNTC.
