The YMCA, in conjunction with Friends of Brookhaven Foundation, is offering a CPR/AED (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation/Automated External Defibrillator) class for the benefit of the Brookhaven community. Learn what CPR is, how it's performed as well as how an AED works in the event of an emergency and why both are critical in the lifesaving proccess.
American Safety &Health Institute CPR and AED is a combined CPR and AED program designed specifically for laypeople. The program is an excellent choice for both the community and workplace setting, and is based upon the 2010 International Consensus on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Science with Treatment Recommendations (CoSTR) and other evidence-based treatment recommendations. The course includes Adult, Child and Infant CPR & AED.
This class is offered for free as a community service.*
*Those who wish to recieve the official certification must perform required skills completely without assistance and pay a $15 fee for the certification card.
