Conversations Matter - Listening and Responding to our Youth.
So, you work with youth and if you are like me, you've had a few of those moments when you've said to yourself..."I wish I would have said this or that." You also know that it's not so much "what we say, but how we say it," that's important.
We've all been there and understand that sometimes we could have done a little more to listen and engage the youth we work with in conversation.
Perhaps you hear a conversation between two teenagers and they mention drinking at a party last Friday night. How do you engage them in a conversation to help them avoiding underage drinking? What should be said and how do you say it? Your conversations matter.
This event is part of the 2014 SAMHSA “Town Hall Meetings to prevent underage drinking” program. This is a grassroots effort to help communities nationwide achieve a measurable difference in keeping our youth safe, healthy and alcohol-free. Our Town. Our Health. Our Future.
