Skin Cancer Awareness Lunch-n-Learn

Skin cancer is largely preventable, and if caught early enough it's usually curable. But how do you catch it in the early stages? Better yet, how do keep from getting skin cancer altogether? Do you have the type of skin that isn't prone to develop skin cancer? Or, is there even such a skin type at all? Get answers to your questions.

As you prepare for summer vacations and lots of outdoor time, your exposure to the sun's harmful rays increases. That means your chances for skin cancer increase, too. From sunscreen to hats, learn about valuable tools you should equip yourself with in the battle with UV rays. You'll also learn how to check yourself for suspicuous spots or changes in your skin, as well as what the various types of skin cancer look like.

Having worked in a Dermatology Clinic, Nurse Practitioner Debbie Frost brings years of experience on skin cancer as she presents this program in Forrest City Medical Center's In-Service Classroom. There is no fee to attend, but registration is required, and a light lunch will be served to all registered attendees.
