Your Trainers:

Luna Malbroux, Soul Bird Consulting. With a Masters in International Social Welfare and Social Work from Columbia University and 10+ years of training and facilitating the culture shift of organizations, universities, and businesses. As an experienced facilitator, educator, and leader on creating inclusive spaces, Luna is able to adaptively support organizations and individuals who are hungry to explore personal and organizational biases. With a background in using empathy and personal narrative to help build consensus, she is eager to guide your organization in building more authentic inclusivity to cater to the needs of staff and clients.

Colleen Mercuri-Johnson, MSW, LISW-S owner of Hope Tree Consulting LLC, holds a Certificate in Traumatic Stress Studies from the Child Trauma Center at Justice Resource Institute.  She provides consultation to teams supporting individuals with complex trauma histories and is a co-lead for the Southwest Regional Trauma Informed Care Collaborative, an initiative through Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services and Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities. An experienced mental health therapist, Colleen specializes in working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disability (IDD), as well as with systems who support individuals with complex trauma histories. 

La Shanda M. Sugg is a native of Detroit, Michigan and a graduate of the University of Michigan. Her passion and calling to help others gain insight into their pasts in order to positively inform their futures motivated her to earn a Master of Arts in Counseling degree from Cincinnati Christian University and found Labors of Love Counseling and Consulting, LLC. Through an understanding of mental health, the brain, EMDR, and developmental and relational trauma, La Shanda assists families, couples, individuals, agencies, and companies identify challenging and disruptive behaviors, understand the purpose they once served, and build resilience to develop new practices that will lead to fulfillment and success.  She is driven to help those who have experienced trauma and other adverse experiences gain an understanding and feel relief from their symptoms.

Out of the Shadows

Let’s shine a light on the resilience of our community. Join us for an interactive discussion about: Human Trafficking, Infant Mortality, HIV & Implicit Bias and help us bring these tough issues out of the shadows so we can work to address them together. You will engage in discussion and activities that allow you to examine your perceptions of these topics.
