Amy Bleser has a Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Xavier University and has been a Licensed Professional Counselor in Ohio since 2016. Amy’s experience began in 2011 and includes programs within the criminal justice system for offender rehabilitation, community based mental health treatment, CBT based individual therapy and trauma informed advocacy for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Amy currently works at Women Helping Women in Cincinnati, OH as the Director of Hamilton County Direct Services overseeing crisis intervention services.
Crisis De-Escalation is a training focused on identifying possible crisis, education on trauma informed interventions during a crisis, and techniques to help reduce on-going crisis. There will be discussion about different viewpoints of a crisis, biases that influence a crisis response, and environmental factors to consider when in a crisis. This training will walk participants through the crisis cycle and provide real situations where presented techniques were applied in a successful way. Participants will also complete an interactive role play to practice these skills and provide constructive feedback to each other.
