More about the Institute for Spiritual Development:
In this 2nd of nine Summer Series Lectures, Pamela Strother, a spiritual leader, retired professor and psychotherapist, explores the power of names and naming. How we are called and how we call ourselves can be a very useful tool for an enriched spiritual life. And it’s a good way of maintaining a positive and inspired focus. Join the fun!

The idea behind all naming ceremonies, baptisms, christenings, whatever the tradition, is one of giving the person a new name that will stand as a mark of belonging to the tribe, clan, church, or group. We can expand on this idea by giving ourselves spiritual names that mark where and who we are on this part of our spiritual journey. And we can have more than one.
Using a combination of stories, writing, drawing, meditation, and conversation, we will investigate how to determine our spiritual names and what they can do to make a difference in our lives.
