"Mapping Self through Archetypes: Tarot, Divination, and Psychospiritualism,"

Summer Lecture by Melissa Lavin, Ph.D.

In this 9th of nine Summer Series Lectures, Melissa Lavin, A SUNY Oneonta Professor and tarot card reader looks at ways that tarot and other tools of Divination can help us gain clarity & healing when life knocks us down and confuses us. Rather than giving up, how do we rise again and grow stronger after times of adversity?

peacock Scroll down to Register. . .

In many traditions, the peacock has great spiritual significance. The likeness of this bird portends transformations of spirit and self, including resurrection and rebirth. The peacock eats poison and does not perish; instead the toxins make its colors sparkle and deepen. This is the resilience of this creature, and this is the resilience of the human creature.

This talk is a call to defy surrender. Tarot (and other tools of divination) can help us to weaponize our struggles to achieve victory in our lives. Specific topics include using the tarot to explore our mental and emotional states, and to heal from trauma.
