Concussion Conference 2017:                                      Sports-Related Concussion Care

 The Slocum Research & Education Foundation in joint providership with Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), is pleased to host Concussion Conference 2017: Sports-Related Concussion Care on Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 8:00a - 12:00p at the Slocum Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in Eugene, Oregon. Primary care providers, therapists, athletic trainers, allied health professionals, coaches, educators, and school counselors are encouraged to attend.

  Course objectives:

  • Articulate the neurological and psychological components of concussion.
  • Identify community and school-based support for appropriate response to adolescents with concussion.
  • Develop a comprehensive treatment plan for the pediatric patient with concussion.
  • Summarize case presentations requiring referral, and what type of providers are available to address specific concussion-related symptoms.

Cost of Attendance:  The cost of attendance is $100 (MD/DO, PA, NP); $50 (ATC, PT/PTA, OT/OTA); $25.00 (educators, coaches, students). Early bird discounts through July 31, 2017. Accreditation:  This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of OHSU School of Medicine and the Slocum Research & Education Foundation. The OHSU School of Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
