Primary Care Evaluation and Treatment of Injuries from Sport, Recreation & Exercise
The Slocum Research & Education Foundation, in joint sponsorship with Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), is pleased to host the 22nd Annual Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Update on December 6, 2014, from 8:00a - 12:00p at the Slocum Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in Eugene, Oregon. Primary care providers and allied health professionals are encouraged to attend.

08:00 - 09:00 Plenary Session #1
09:00 - 10:00 Break Out Session #1 (Attend three, 20 minute rotations)
Fundamentals of musculoskeletal exam sessions: Hand, shoulder, elbow, knee, foot/ankle. Select three sessions; 20 minute rotations through each exam area of choice.
10:00 - 11:00 Break Out Session #2 (Attend two, 30 minute rotations)
Diagnosis & Treatment of common injuries from sport, recreation & exercise: Rotator cuff tears; common fractures in sport, recreation and exercise; acute knee injuries; overexertion and overuse injuries. Select two sessions; 20 minute rotations through each area of choice. Session covers basic injury-specific differential diagnoses, imaging, injection considerations, rehabilitation goals, and prevention techniques. Interactive Q & A encouraged.
