Fall Harvest: How to use Maine's best local produce to eat seasonally
Fall is Dr. Corrie’s favorite time of year for local produce in Maine. In this workshop we will learn about the benefits of eating locally grown foods in season. We will also review recipes using apples, squash, greens, and root veggies in delicious ways to help prepare our bodies for the cold months ahead. In this workshop we will also discuss methods of preserving some of the Maine fall harvest to make our winter a little tastier and healthier.
Dr. Corrie’s Nutrition Workshops take place on the second floor of the Professional Building on Waterville’s Main Street. Tea and homemade paleo-style snacks are served throughout the workshop, along with opportunities to sample any foods being used as education examples. Handouts and pens will also be provided. Registration is strongly encouraged in order to secure a seat (or seats for friends/family) in the workshop. Dr. Corrie’s Nutrition Workshops are provided free of charge as a service to the local community to promote understanding of the importance of clean nutrition for preventing and healing chronic disease. These workshops are open to all who want to attend.
