Donors get inundated with communication pieces from so many nonprofits. How can you make your messages stand out and be a compelling tool to your donors and potential donors? Sue Hacker Nelson, CFRE will discuss how to make your messages memorable and meaningful.
Sue Hacker Nelson, CFRE has spent her entire career in the not-for-profit sector. Prior to joining the National Episcopal Health Ministries, she has served in a number of different roles including Managing Partner for Loring Sternberg & Associates, and Indianapolis and Fort Lauderdale based Not-for-Profit fundraisng consulting firm.
Sue has also served as Director of Development for Noble of Indiana overseeing A Noble Campaign: Building Lives, Building Families - a multi-million dollar effort - and as Director of Development and Public Relations for both the International School of Indiana and Young Audiences of Indiana. Through this extensive 'small-shop' experience, she brings an intimate knowledge of the special challenges facing organizations with limited staff.
A past president of AFP-IC and a past co-chair of both the Indiana Philanthropy Awards Dinner and Indiana Fund Raising Day, Sue maintains her ties to the local AFP chapter through various volunteer efforts. She was awarded the chapter's 1999 President's Award for professionalism and enthusiasm in encouraging philanthropy in Indiana. She also acheived her Certified Fund Raising Executive designation in 1999.
In addition to service to the profession, Sue is also an active community volunteer and currently holds the position of Director of Marketing for the Embroiders' Guild of America. She has a BA from DePauw University.
