Meditation 101

Meditation is a process of familiarization, getting to know your own mind, warts and all. Cyndi will introduce you to the traditional mindfulness meditation technique called shamatha to use as a path toward making friends with ourselves, creating a gap between stimuli and response, and leading to a richer and more joyful life.

In the first session, Cyndi will give a talk on meditation, followed by guided instruction and practice. In the second and third sessions, she will give short dharma talks to help you deepen your understanding and enhance your practice. There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion. Each session will include a group sitting meditation practice.

This course is open to absolutely anyone. No experience necessary. Just bring your body and mind - we provide the cushions!
