July 17 - July 21 - Beginner Opti and Opti Racing

We are excited that you will be joining us at Corinthian Yacht Club of Seattle summer sail camp in partnership with Sail Sand Point. Please read the class descriptions below to find out which class fits your child's sailing experience. If you have any questions about which camp to place your child in please don't hesitate to contact CYC. 

Beginner Opti - Starting to Sail!
This camp introduces kids to the basics of sailing a small boat by putting them in the driver’s seat of an Opti sailboat. The main focus of this repeatable camp is the development of basic skills for a strong sailing foundation. By the end of camp most sailors will be able to put together an Opti and have some control of the boat in light breeze. This camp is a good fit for brand new sailors and returning beginning sailors alike.

Opti Racing

Sailors who join this camp will be introduced to the basics of racing sailboats and the racing rules and by the end of the week will be competing with each other on the water. Participants must be able to sail an Opti successfully upwind and downwind in breeze up to 10 knots, and tack and gybe correctly.
Prerequisite: Youth Intermediate (or equivalent)
Price: $425

Please note that there is a $50 discount on sail camp for CYC Members. If you are interested in membership please contact the office. Family memberships are only $35/mo. Our hours are MWF 12pm-5pm.
