Documenting Processes in a Manner That Makes Sense!

Joint Meeting with ASCM New Haven, Massachusetts Minuteman (MM), Northern New England, Western MA & ASQ-New Haven, Southern Ct Sections

As a former Naval Aviator, HENRY DRAUGHON understands and respects the value of quality procedural documentation.  As an information technology professional and process consultant, he understands how difficult it is to create and maintain quality procedural documentation, especially when it comes to meeting the expectations of 21st-century workers.

Operational procedural documentation connects people, processes, and technology. Procedural documentation includes:
•    Policies,
•    Procedures,
•    Regulations,
•    Best practices,
•    End-to-end workflows,
•    Accountabilities,
•    Applications,
•    Work instructions,
•    Structured and unstructured data,
•    Performance and financial analytics,
•    Training resources,
•    Glossaries.

Studies show that attention spans have diminished from 12 seconds to 8 seconds. In that 8 seconds, workers quickly scan procedural content, and make decisions about whether they can afford to spend more effort on that information.  Reading walls of text, viewing disconnected, confusing diagrams, and scrolling through PDFs in search of desired instructions is a waste of the 21st-century workers’ time.

Henry helps companies improve and deliver procedural content, in a manner that gets all stakeholders on the same page quickly.  Staff can navigate, read, and apply technical content faster.

The goal is to help staff dependent upon optimal process resources, to "get work done!"
