Bead Industries, Inc. is comprised of two divisions, Bead Chain and Bead Electronics, and a wholly-owned subsidiary, McGuire Mfg. Company. Bead Electronics, a division of Bead Industries, manufactures precision continuous reeled, solid-wire, and tubular contact pins for the telecom, automotive, connector, and lighting industries. Bead Chain, a division of Bead Industries, has supplied authentic Bead Chain® since 1914. Bead Chain® is used on vertical blinds, securing marine parts, as window blinds, securing plumbing fixtures, key chains and many other products. McGuire Mfg. Company, based in Cheshire, CT, has been a distributor of commercial grade plumbing fixture trim for more than 50 years, providing high quality traps, stops, supplies, drains and strainers.
Jill Bryant Mayer is part of the fifth generation of family members working at Bead Industries, Inc. After several years as Operations Manager for an online marketing consultancy in Vermont, she came to Bead in 2007 as the Financial Controller. There she was responsible for HR, financial planning and reporting, and budget management of both Bead Chain and Bead Electronics divisions. In 2014, she assumed the role of Corporate President and is currently responsible for strategic planning, executive leadership and capital allocation. She serves on several boards, including Bead's Board of Directors, the New Haven Manufacturers Association’s Board of Directors, and the University of New Haven's Center for Family Business Advisory Board and Entrepreneurship Advisory Board. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Vermont and a Master of Science from Champlain College. She resides with her husband and their two sons in Cheshire. Jill will provide a company overview before the tour.
