This seminar will answer the question "Why did the ancient civilizations create star maps on the Earth?" It will explain the basics of the Mayan calendar system to help us understand why ancient peoples created star maps on the ground and how these may be at the heart of the development of religions. It will also discuss why we no longer do this.
