Level 3 Blessing Workshop - West Coast

In preparation for the upcoming international Blessing on February 17 ^th, we are pleased to announce an exciting and informative “Start Smart” workshop for engaged couples and young Blessed couples. This is a “Level 3” Blessing workshops, designed to help couples prepare for the Blessing and for Blessed Family Life. This program is designed for engaged and recently Blessed Couples of the First or Second Generation. We recommend it for any couple that has not yet begun their conjugal or family life.

These workshops feature valuable content, from the meaning and value of the Blessing to practical guidance on relationships, communication, male-female differences, and building intimacy. We will also specifically prepare couples for beginning life as a Blessed Couple. Presenters will include Unificationist counselor and marriage educator John Williams, National Blessed Family Ministry director of counseling Debby Gullery and Rev. Phillip Schanker, director of the National BFM.

I. WORKSHOP SCHEDULE AND LOCATION

The program will begin with registration at 8:30 AM on Saturday, January 19^th at the Bay Area Family Church (BAFC) at 2305 Washington Ave., San Leandro, CA. It will conclude at 6:00 PM after dinner on Sunday, January 20th.

II. REGISTRATION AND DEADLINES

The workshop fee is $80 per participant for those who register for the workshop by January 11^th. The fee is $90 for those who register after the deadline, and $100 for unregistered walk-ins at the workshop.

* * We strongly encourage couples to attend together. However, if only one can attend, please make sure to add your fianc�'s name during the registration process. Thank you!

III. ACCOMMODATIONS

The workshop fee includes meals but does not include accommodations for the two nights at the workshop, Saturday and Sunday. We suggest the following:

1. If you have friends or relatives in the area, it is preferable to stay with them.

2. The BAFC church has made arrangements for lodging at the Marina Inn, 68 Monarch Bay Dr., San Leandro, CA at an extra cost for each participant. The cost: $30/per person/per night, which will sleep 4 persons in one room and includes breakfast. (You can pay this amount at the time of registration). 3. The BAFC Church has limited room for lodging; however, it is sleeping bags on a mat on the floor. Bathrooms are available but there are no shower facilities. Participants should bring a towel and any toiletries they will need. Sleeping bags can be provided, unless you wish to bring your own. The cost: $10/per person/per night. IV. TRANSPORTATION

For those traveling by air, the Oakland International Airport is the best location and is only 15 minutes from the church. Transportation will be provided to and from the Oakland Airport; but cannot be provided from any other airport. If you are traveling to the San Francisco International Airport, you can take the BART transit system directly from the airport to the San Leandro BART stop. We can pick-up from there. Please note at registration if you need pick-up from one of these locations and arrangements will be made.
