Panel 1 - Accommodating Mental Health, including OHSA and WSIB Considerations

Depression and anxiety are often "invisible" disabilities that are impacting the workforce both from a cost and disability management perspective.   With the rise in mental illness absenteeism, employers are grappling with understanding their accommodation obligations and what medical information they can request from an employee.   Join us as we discuss how to tackle the subject of accommodating mental health issues, as well as offering practical strategies and tools to help employers navigate through this tricky area of law.

Panel 2 - Trends in Union and Non-Union Terminations of Employment: Cause, Non-Cause and Frustration

Join us as we discuss some of the most challenging termination issues facing employers.  It has never been more difficult to assess whether an employer has cause to dismiss and if cause does not exist, the full scope of an employer's obligations to departing employees.  We will explore these difficult workplace issues and take questions from participants.
