Tubs and TACOs
SMC will be hosting our 2nd Annual Tubs and TACOs, a heat illness awareness and simulation event. Participants can expect to learn the most up to date information on heat illness, emergency action planning, cold zone set-up, and EMS collaboration. They will also experience and practice techniques using both cold water immersion and TACO method.

11:30am - Welcome, registration and introductions

11:45am - Dr. Casa and Dr. Stearns from the Korey Stringer Institute present LIVE via Zoom the most up to date science and research in heat illness and considerations for the combative patient when treating EHS.

12:40pm - EMS Heat Illness Protocols

1:00pm - Working Lunch

1:30pm - TACO method and Cold Water Immersion practice stations and a full football laden athlete heat stroke simulation complete with EMS response and collaboration.
