The University of Toledo and Musical Resources will present a “Get Ready for the New Year” Choral Music Reading Session, Saturday, August 9, 2014 in the Choral Room of the Center for Performing Arts on the main campus of The University of Toledo.

This choral music reading session is designed for middle school and high school vocal music instructors and college music majors who intend to teach.  The musical selections will include those worthy of performance at Large Group Events and on school concerts for the general public.  As approximately one third of the titles will be sacred, church choir directors may also find this reading session worth attending.

Through the generosity of Musical Resources (www.musical-resources.com), a sizeable discount on music costs makes the registration fee very affordable.  Your fee will provide you with 60 quality octavo editions (valued at over $120.00), a professional accompanist, refreshments and a warm, collegial environment.  Dr. Stephen Hodge, UT Director of Choral Activities and OMEA adjudicator will serve as your host and presenter.

CONTACT HOURS & IN-SERVICE CREDIT 
This workshop provides 7 contact hours and in-service credit. Please check with your district for verification forms and procedures. 

OUTLINE OF THE DAY
Saturday, August 9, 2014 Choir Room, Center for Performing Arts, UT

• 8 am – Coffee, Doughnuts, Bagels, Juice and Registration Check-in & Onsite Registration
• 8:30 am – 12 noon/First Segment
• Noon to 1 pm – Lunch on Your Own
• 1 pm – 4:30 pm/Second Segment

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Middle school and high school vocal music instructors and college music majors who intend to teach. As approximately one third of the titles will be sacred, church choir directors are also encouraged to attend.

WORKSHOP FEE/REGISTRATION DEADLINES

• Early Bird Registration - $40 (if you register by June 23)
• Regular Registration $45 (register by July 2)
• Late Registration - $50 (if you register after July 2)
