New Beginnings:5x5 Leadership Team Form 

We are seeking to craft a team of talented young people (and adults) from across the diocese to offer the New Beginning: 5x5 event this fall.  The New Beginning: 5x5 event is a weekend experience for 6-7-8^th graders that includes elements of a retreat, an adventure and a party.  This event will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church in Richland, Washington November 14-16.  The NB5x5 team ‘Work-Party’ overnight is currently scheduled for November 1-2 (also at All Saints, Richland). 

The 5x5 theme refers to the radio code that means ‘all clear’.  This New Beginnings will be focusing on how Christian practice and community can lead us into ‘all clear’ when your life seems anything but vibrant.  There will be 5 talks/small groups on issues important to teen life today; 5 prayer/worship events; and 5 surprises (shh…they are surprises) and way more than that many songs and games.  New Beginnings: 5x5 is supported by the Episcopal Diocese of Spokane and reflects this tradition and our commitments.  However, all 6-8^th graders are welcome to attend New Beginning: 5x5 (duh). 

All 6-8^th graders who want to attend this New Beginning’s event may do so, even if they have gone before.  7-8^th graders who attended previously are eligible to be on the Leadership Team. 

9-12^th graders who have attended New Beginnings, TEC, or served as a Camp Cross counselor (or something very similar) will be well prepared for applying to join the leadership team.   9^th-12^th graders who are active in an Episcopal congregation may certainly apply as well. 

All adults who are currently leading and serving in any Episcopal congregation in the diocese (lay/ordained/paid/volunteer) and are current on safe church training may offer their interest in serving with the NB5x5 event.
