On paper, a scheduler’s job is simply to chart out who does what where and when. But in reality, the scheduler’s role is to remove as much risk from the project as possible: the risk of delays, the risk of crews on-site without materials, the risk of crews working too fast and creating a safety issue.Better understanding flowline theory will help participants see the jobsite not as a sprint, but as a relay – a team working together for the good of the project. This class is a deep-dive into creating a model-based schedule. After obtaining the conceptual understanding of Flowline scheduling benefits vs. CPM scheduling, attendees will create schedules with model-based tasks, apply resources and five layers of logic to produce the most optimal schedule. At the end of the class, participants will see what critical role location-based quantities play in today’s construction projects…and see why BIM-based projects help mitigate much of the scheduling risk.
