In the 1850s, Frederick Law Olmsted, America's greatest landscape architect, undertook an extraordinary journey as an undercover correspondent in the South for the up-and-coming New York Times. Horowitz followed his trail and often his mode of transportation. The result is an "intrepid and often hilarious journey.
