Speaker: Travis Burr, 7NT
Mr. Burr will discuss details of project management, geotechnical drilling, laboratory testing, and construction inspection services performed for several Combined Sewer Outfall (CSO) programs across the Midwest region.
Mr. Burr manages the geotechnical work that 7NT performs on Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) projects throughout the Midwest. Often times, these projects include large underground tunnels (200 to 400 feet below ground) to store and convey CSO for treatment. The geotechnical data of these projects is a vital component as to the project’s success as it dictates the vertical and horizontal alignment of the tunnel, the selection of a tunnel boring machine (TBM), and outlines the conditions expected during construction, such as groundwater inflows. Mr. Burr and 7NT successfully completed the geotechnical work on the Deep Rock Tunnel Connector project in Indianapolis, which set world records for mining. Additional projects are being performed in Columbus, Cleveland, Fort Wayne, Louisville, St. Louis, and Hartford.
