Mission Possible: Board Excellence in 2015  -  -  - Salem, OR

Why you should attend:

Habitat for Humanity of Oregon (HFHO), your affiliate State Support Organization, as part of its strategic plan, is devoting significant resources this year to board development and performance. This is a supercharged day, coming to a location near you, to help your Board and Executive Director (if you have one) to learn how to govern, grow, and lead your affiliate. Bringing a full day of board training and information on affiliate excellence out to you is an affordable opportunity that should not be missed!

Who should attend:

Recommended for your Executive Director and all of your board members. At a minimum, your board officers will benefit from attending. New board members, or those you believe will someday become officers should also be encouraged to fully learn how to lead their affiliate. The material is also applicable to any other nonprofit boards you may serve. If you do not have an ED, invite your most senior paid staff person.

 Outcomes for the day:

  • Improve your knowledge of Habitat's mission and goals, the current strategic vision for Habitat affiliates, and how to incorporate them in a way that meets your own community’s needs.  .
  • Discover the leadership principles and practices found on the best Habitat affiliate Boards of Directors (including becoming champion fundraisers).
  • Learn  how to enhance the critical relationship between Boards and their Executive Directors.
  • Network with other affiliates sharing strengths and ideas.
  • Leave with new connections for support.

Cost:

Plan on bringing your ED and as many board members as possible. Each 1-day session will run from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., with lunch included.  There are discounted rates for groups:

1 - 2 people from an affiliate  - $35 each

3 - 4 people from an affiliate - $30 each

5 or more people from an affiliate- $25 each

Ways to register:

If you are an Executive Director you can find out who from your board will be attending and register for them.  That way you know which price structure is appicable.
