EXPERIENTIAL DESIGN COMPETITION

EXPERIENTIAL DESIGN:

ex·pe·ri·en·tial - relating to, derived from, or providing experience

(merriam-webster.com)

Goal:  To facilitate positive health care experiences by learning, simulating and addressing the needs of users with creative design solutions

Submissions:  Experiential Design Submissions will be accepted on health care design ideas to serve any patient/family/staff need.  Please do not submit confidential information, as it will be shared with the profession at-large to inspire better design.  We encourage the introduction of new inventions; however, designers are responsible for legally protecting any intellectual property before sharing it during this competition.

Eligibility:   The 2017 Experiential Design Competition is open to licensed and unlicensed
design professionals, artists and others with an interest in healthcare design.  Eligible participants include architects, interior designers, industrial designers, furniture planners, health care professionals, patients, researchers and/or students. Multidisciplinary teams are encouraged, but not required.

Award:  The top three submissions (selected by our jury) will each receive one free full registration to attend the 2017 Patient-Centered Design Innovation Summit (PCDIS), where they will be our special guests presenters during the virtual reality and rapid prototyping sessions.  The top three design teams will each have an opportunity to present their design solutions during an educational session at the summit; then, their projects will be on display for attendees to vote for their favorite projects.  The winning project, as decided by summit participants, will be announced during the summit.
