Join us for this comprehesive 1-day training on trauma and trauma-informed care provided by a National Council for Mental Well-Being's Trauma-Informed Care Consultant.
Training Summary Trauma is a near universal experience of individuals who seek assistance from behavioral health providers. An individual’s experience of trauma impacts every area of human functioning — physical, mental, behavioral, social, and spiritual. It is now the expectation that behavioral health care workers and community service providers view the people they serve through the trauma lens and competently intervene in this area. The good news is that trauma is treatable and organizations can become trauma-informed in order to best meet the needs of the people they serve. This training teaches participants about trauma, its prevalence and impact, including the latest information on trauma and the brain. Participants learn about trauma-informed approaches, the seven domains of a trauma-informed care organization, how trauma impacts the work force and ways to build resilience among staff.
