Expand your therapeutic skills to include nature-based interventions. We will be hosting Katie Asmus, MA, LPC, BMP, a Body-Centered and Nature-based Psychotherapist, Educator, Trainer and Consultant from Colorado, for a 5-hour virtual training that is sure to widen your understanding of how to use nature to assist trauma survivors.
Description of training:
Nervous system regulation is at the heart of trauma stabilization and healing. In this 5 hour workshop, you will learn concepts and interventions rooted in nature-based therapy to support clients in coming into the present moment, regulating their nervous systems and connecting with resource and resilience. You will leave with a theoretical understanding of how connection with nature supports trauma healing as well as a variety of tools you can utilize indoors, outdoors or in conjunction with teletherapy.
Learning Objectives
Participants will:
-Understand key principles of Nature-based therapy and how it fits into the field of Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare
-Be able to identify how mindfulness in nature supports nervous system regulation
-Practice experiential nature-based tools for orienting to safety and nervous system regulation
-Understand ethical considerations for incorporating nature connection into work with clients
Program begins at 10am with a 1-hour lunch break from 12-1pm.

CEUs: 4.75 CEUs are being applied for with the following Boards: OH CSWMFT and KY Social Work. TTN is a Category 1 Provider in IN.
