Please join the Massachusetts Association of Healthcare Quality along with our two guest speakers, on October 19, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for an in-person live networking event.  This event will focus on the role of families and siblings in the Behavioral Health experience.

We will explore, through our guest speakers, programs created to support siblings and caregivers of children admitted for psychiatric hospitalization, building resilience and decreasing trauma for families of children with mental illness.  We will also learn about capacity building among providers who deliver family-centered mental health care.

Participants will come away with:

  • An increase in their understanding of the impact of a child’s mental illness on siblings and other family members
  • The ability to identify three patterns or themes that characterize the sibling experience and
  • Be able to describe three strategies to support siblings

*The MAHQ Networking Event will be held in the Allen Riddle Living Room.  The Allen Riddle building is a separate brick building located behind the Hospital.  Enter the Hospital grounds at the set of lights on Washington Street for the East Entrance.  Take your first right into the Patient/Visitor parking garage.  After parking your car, exit the parking garage to the outside by the East Entrance.  You will see the Allen Riddle brick building up the road on your left.  Enter through the main entrance and the Allen Riddle Living Room will be to your right – first doorway.
