MICHAEL CARD - Author and Singer-Songwiter

A native of Tennessee, Michael received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biblical studies from Western Kentucky University. While at WKU, he met Dr. William Lane, who mentored him in an imaginative approach to studying the Bible. Michael has also received honorary doctorates in Music and Christian Education from Whitfield Seminary and Philadelphia Biblical University.  Michael lives in Franklin, Tennessee, where, with a group of close friends, he pursues racial reconciliation and neighborhood renewal. He and his wife, Susan, have four children.

 John Witherspoon College invites you to hear Michael Card in Concert on Tuesday, October 4 at 7:00 pm. One of America’s best loved Christian artists, Michael will perform timeless classics as well as new songs—all in support of the ministry of John Witherspoon College.

For over thirty years, Michael Card has endeavored to engage with the text of Scripture in music, writing, conferences, concerts, and the classroom. The fruit of this commitment is seen in well-known songs such as “El Shaddai,” “Immanuel,” and more recently, “Come Lift Up Your Sorrows.”  Through more than thirty albums, twenty-two books, and countless concert performances, Michael  invites listeners and readers to wrestle deeply with Scripture and to love the Lord God with all the heart and mind.
