Jeanette Mesite Frem, MHS, IBCLC, RLC, CCE, CD started working with new moms and babies in 1992 in a
village in West Africa, where she lived and worked for two years with a midwife and a nurse. She earned her
graduate degree in public health at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, focusing on international
maternal and infant nutrition. She has been working directly with families in Massachusetts as a birth doula,
childbirth educator and breastfeeding counselor since 2003. She became an International Board Certified
Lactation Consultant in 2013. She has a private practice serving Central Massachusetts/MetroWest families
(Babies in Common), where she provides childbirth and prenatal education and office/home visits for

Breastfeeding Foundations
for Perinatal Health Workers

If you work with expectant families or those with new babies this class is for you! Join us and find out what you can do to help parents get off to the best start.

This interactive workshop will offer details and concrete actions helpers can take including:  

• Prenatal preparation

• The first hour after birth

• Getting a good latch

• Making more milk

• Healing nipples

• Tongue tie

• Alternative feeding

• When to seek out the help of an IBCLC

Pumps and feeding accessories for you to see, touch and operate

Continuing Education Credits: BACE-NMC: 7.5 contact hours.  7.5 DONA International Credits (DONA credits are accepted by Lamaze, Bradley and ICEA). Meets criteria of the Comm. of MA  Board of Nursing regulations: (244 CMR, section 5:00) for continuing education for nursing re-licensure for 7.5 contact hours.

REFUND POLICY: Refunds will be granted up to 2 weeks before the start of the course. Doulas and midwives called to a birth can notify us (phone or email) the day of the workshop for a refund less a $40 administrative fee.

BACE-NMC reserves the right to cancel the course due to under enrollment or unforseen circumstances.
