What does “The New North” mean for Maine?
For the first time since the 1970s, Maine exporters have increased access to Europe and Nordic countries. At the same time, major economic development projects from Canada to Greenland and on to Scandinavia are opening new markets for the state’s products and services in unusual and often uncharted territories. The 34th annual Maine International Trade Day program examines these developments within a Maine-based context and explores what it could mean for the state’s businesses, service providers, and research institutions.
