Annual Membership & General Meeting

Member Meeting:  11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Update on board elections, activities & other matters, open to all members of Friends of Korea.  Guests are welcome to attend.

General meeting - open to all:  12:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Lunch will be served between 12 noon and 1:00 pm. 

Program Agenda for General Meeting -

Speakers will include:

• Welcome by Boston Consul General Ohm, with some Q&A
• Eung-Ji Kim, KOICA representative to USAID will speak about the development of KOICA (Korea’s volunteer global service organization) and what they are doing today.
  
• Dr. Sung-Yoon Lee , Kim Koo Korea Foundation Professor in Korean Studies and Assistant Professor at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy  will speak on: "Five Myths about North Korea."
  
• Dr. Terry Park, Visiting Professor at Wellesley College, will speak on "De/militarized Masculinity: The Korean War, the US national in/security state, and US popular culture.“

The program will end with a performance of Gayageum music and Salpuri folk dance.
