The Texas Association of Community Development Corporations is pleased to present the 2014 Texas Community Development Conference in San Antonio March 30th through April 1st.
Community Developers in Texas have emerged from the economic downturn to a new reality. Where there were once many community-based groups, now there are fewer. Where there were once multiple funding sources, there are now fewer. Where successful community development groups once could operate alone, now we must partner.
The changing landscape has led to a new entrepreneurialism within community development where doors are opening for groups willing to move beyond their traditional lines of business to explore new ways to serving their communities. Successful and sustainable CDCs no longer just provide affordable housing; they are now considered leaders in their communities and the go to organizations for new program delivery and innovation.
The goal of the 2014 Texas Community Development Conference is to harness this new spirit of comprehensive community building and share our impacts with others in the state. We will come together in San Antonio to share our successes and to provide leadership to enhance community development efforts across the state.
Please make plans today to join your fellow community development professionals at the 2014 Texas Community Development Conference.

Teambuilding Toolkit
One of the key challenges of organizational and community life is developing a highly productive team. Managers and community leaders often struggle with individual and group disputes that seem impossible to resolve. This Teambuilding Toolkit workshop will identify key areas of conflict, proven strategies to identify the issues underlying these conflicts; and will provide an interest-based approach to resolving disputes and/or establishing and nurturing a strong team, whether a Board of Directors, organizational staff or residents trying to figure out how to fix their neighborhoods.
This training is free for those who register for the conference. If you have already registered and would like to sign up for the training, please email Robyn Murphy or call her at 512-916-0508. If you have not signed up for the conference but plan to and would like to attend the training, select the conference attendee option under items to be sold. You may also sign up for the training without attending the conference, for a fee of $50.
