8 week program - 4:00-5:00 PM EDT
STARTS: Wednesday, April 11, 2018
ENDS: Wednesday, May 30, 2018
Thank you for your interest in the I'm Girl program developed for girls in grades 6-7.
Family Transition Place and the Orangeville Public Library are working together to facilitate the I’M GIRL program. I’M GIRL was developed to help today’s preteen and teenage girls better understand the issues they face during adolescence and help them make healthier choices.
The I’M GIRL program teaches girls how to build on their personal strengths, feel good about themselves and resist the pressures to make unhealthy choices. The program helps girls strengthen their assertiveness skills, problem solving skills and helps them develop strategies to deal with peer pressure and risky behaviour. The information and activities chosen for the group is presented in a multi-media format, utilizing interactive games and group work. I’M GIRL is both informative and fun and we look forward to working with the I’M GIRL participants.
We want to ensure that we are making a difference, and ask our workshop participants to complete a short survey before and after the program to measure success.
