Students with ASD present with a variety of strengths but often, also, display skills deficits in the school setting. Organization, Time Management, Research and Study Skills, Working Memory. Many students struggle with these executive functions. What tools do we provide students to bypass these challenges? Fortunately, a wealth of resources offer options. This fast-paced conference will provide an overview of tech tools and resources to help students with ASD achieve success. Participants will learn about various options readily available as features built into ubiquitous mobile devices. NOTE: Please be sure to bring devices (tablets and/or laptops and smartphones) for "playtime".
About the Presenter: Karen Janowski, MS, Ed. has a private Assistive and Educational Technology consulting practice in Reading, MA and is an adjunct professor in the Assistive Technology Graduate program at Simmons College, Boston, MA. She is a nationally recognized speaker and is passionate about removing the obstacles to learning for all students using assistive and educational technology strategies. Previously, she worked as an Assistive Technology Specialist in the Newton Public Schools, Newton, MA.
