Tutoring Basics

The Saint Paul Public Schools Foundation is pleased to offer Tutoring Basics training. The Foundation’s Tutoring Basics training focuses on important strategies that all tutors can use to successfully work with youth. The training introduces tutors to using a tutoring session structure, goal setting, good questions, encouraging language, reflection techniques, and much more. Content is presented through the lens of youth development. This training is designed to help any tutor be intentional and skill-based in their tutoring sessions with youth. 

The training will be held at Central Baptist Church at 420 Roy St. N. Signs will be posted to direct participants to the training space. Enter the building through main glass doors on Roy St. Meeting area will be to your right as you enter the main lobby.

Free Street parking is available on Roy St or Shields St. Note: Roy St. is one way heading North - enter Roy St. from St. Anthony (I-94 frontage). Central Baptist is also easily accessible by MetroTransit, the Greenline stop at Snelling Ave. is close to the building. You can 

Light snacks will be provided but please feel free to bring your own food as needed.
