The Saint Paul Public Schools Foundation is pleased to offer Tutoring Basics training. The Foundation’s Tutoring Basics training focuses on important strategies that all tutors can use to successfully work with youth. The training introduces tutors to using a tutoring session structure, goal setting, good questions, encouraging language, reflection techniques, and much more. Content is presented through the lens of youth development. This training is designed to help any tutor be intentional and skill-based in their tutoring sessions with youth.
Parking is open in any lot on campus. See the campus map for parking options (https://www.stkate.edu/pages/aboutstkates/pdf/stpaulmap.pdf). The O'Shaughnessy lot has the most parking available.
The training will be held in Whitby 121. Whitby is number 34 on the map. Once you enter Whitby, the room is all the way at the end of the hallway on the right side. Signs will be posted to indicate the room.
Light snacks will be provided but please feel free to bring your own food as needed.
Tutor training is open to any volunteer or program staff member working with young people in St. Paul
