The Saint Paul Public Schools Foundation and the Minnesota Literacy Council have created a workshop specifically for tutors working with Saint Paul Public School students in literacy. The workshop will provide an overview of the reading process and the challenges kids face. You’ll learn ways to read with and to kids, pick up some ideas for reviewing alphabetics skills, and explore ways to support writing practice.
You can park in any lot on campus after 5:00pm. There will be the most parking available in the O'Shaugnessy parking lot off of Fairview Ave. See the campus map (https://www.stkate.edu/pages/aboutstkates/pdf/stpaulmap.pdf) for parking options on campus.
The training will be held in Mendel Room 213. Mendel is building #20 on the map. Enter through the main door and up to the second floor (when you walk into the building you hit the stairs right away or you can use the elevator which is on the 1st floor to the left) the room is to the left. Signs will be posted to indicate the room.
Light snacks will be provided but please feel free to bring any other food you may need.
Tutor training is open to any volunteer or program staff member working with young people in St. Paul.
