Middle Grades Matter: Adolescent Literacy Tutor Training

Tuesday, August 26th

12:00pm-3:00pm

Facilitator: Rob Podlasek

The Saint Paul Public Schools Foundation and the Minnesota Literacy Council have developed a comprehensive literacy training for students grades 5-8. The training addresses literacy tutoring strategies, how to align tutoring with the Saint Paul Public Schools curriculum, and the challenges of working in the middle grades. In addition, tutors learn specific strategies that support positive behavior and motivation for students in the middle grades.

Free parking is available in the lot behind the MLC. Enter the building at the main entrance and go straight to reach the training room.

Light snacks are provided- feel free to bring extra food or drinks as needed.

Tutor training is open to any volunteer or program staff member working with young people in St. Paul.
