The Hawaiian Humane Society is an education and advocacy organization that shelters, protects, rescues, reunites and rehomes animals. It is Oahu's only open-admission shelter that welcomes all animals. Established in 1883, this non-profit organization is not a chapter of any group as there is no national humane society. Gifts made directly to this independent, local organization help local animals and people. Visit HawaiianHumane.org to learn more.

Volunteer Educator Training:

Join the Hawaiian Humane Society as a Volunteer Educator and help turn children's love for animals into a lesson on kindness, empathy and leadership. Be part of the team who presents at schools islandwide on behalf of Hawaiian Humane. You:

  • Learn the essentials of speaking as an animal welfare educator
  • Become a storyteller
  • Encourage youth to transform their communities into a better place for animals
  • Bring hope and inspiration to Oahu classrooms
This training will discuss the types of groups we speak to, the topics we cover and give you an opportunity to perform a mock presentation. We will also have a sign-up sheet for upcoming engagements. Don't miss out on this informational gathering!
