Trinitas Summer Art Camp
Apophatic Art: Using Negative Space in Drawing and Color
Instructor: Samuel Granger
Normally we focus on drawing some thing—be it a face, an animal, an object—but we neglect that the space around the thing also helps our whole piece. During this week, students will learn to pay attention to that negative space and learn how that context can help their compositions.
There will be a balance between drawing and other media (colored pencils, colored paper) which students will use to integrate color and patterns. There will also be daily warm-ups for different artistic rudiments.
The class is open to students and friends of Trinitas entering 1st through 9th grade.
Sessions run from July 13 to 17, 10:00-11:30am.
Please make checks payable to Trinitas Classical School and mail or deliver your fee to the Trinitas office by Tuesday, July 7.
